In September 2025, I participated in “ECTMIH 2025” held in Hamburg, Germany as a member of the Youth Initiative. I presented on the theme of youth roles in the NTDs field and discussed strengthening international youth networks and directions for collaboration.
September 30th - October 2nd
（Kampala, Uganda）
In September 2025, Kondo from our organization participated in the NTDs NGO Network 2025 (NNN2025) held in Kampala, Uganda. The theme was “Sustainable Innovations for Impact.” New approaches utilizing AI and digital technologies were introduced, and youth-led workshops were also actively conducted.
August 20th（Pacifico Yokohama, Kanagawa）
The official TICAD9 thematic event “The Future of Global Health: The Next Generation's Impact on World Health” was held at Pacifico Yokohama. Representatives from the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, WHO, and Gavi, alongside young people from Japan, Kenya, and Tanzania, took the stage to discuss Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the elimination of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs). 168 participants from 34 countries joined online and on-site, selecting the “Touch 10K Challenge” as a concrete action toward 2030.

January 30, 2024 (online)
As the executive committee of World NTD Day Japan, we held the Neglected Tropical Diseases Contest again this year. Thirty-five teams (56 participants) entered the contest, and the winners were selected after the final selection process held on January 11 at AP Toranomon in Tokyo. For details, please see the contest feature page.
December 2024 (Tokyo)
We participated in an event hosted by PoliPoli Co., Ltd. where Generation Z made policy proposals. Mr. Kiyoshi Odawara, former Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, who participated in the event, gave us a strong comment saying, “I would like to give my full support.”
December 1-7, 2024 (Turkey)
We had the opportunity to participate in the SATREPS project, “One Health Approach to Controlling Neglected Tropical Diseases, Especially Arthropod-Borne Infectious Diseases, in Turkey.” During our visit in December, we visited the Ministry of Health, research institutions, and a laboratory specializing in leishmaniasis, and exchanged opinions with local researchers and government officials.
March 20 to March 27 (Sepon District, Laos)
We visited educational institutions such as universities, research institutes, government ministries, and JICA maternal and child health project sites to gain a deeper understanding of the current situation of NTDs and efforts in the health sector from a multifaceted perspective.

As the executive committee of World NTD Day Japan, our association planned and held a World NTD Day webinar.

As the executive committee of World NTD Day Japan, our association held the first Neglected Tropical Diseases Student Contest.
The NTDs Youth Association, a general incorporated association, is hosting the Second Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) Contest as a member of the World NTD Day Japan Executive Committee. This contest aims to deepen the understanding of NTDs among students living in Japan and provide an opportunity for them to consider how they, Japanese companies, and organizations can contribute to NTD control efforts. An award ceremony is held annually on January 30, World NTD Day.

For college students, graduate students, and working professionals who share these aspirations, we invite a diverse range of guests who are active at the forefront of global health to provide insights into career paths.
