Fiscal Year 2024
This is our second year as a general incorporated association, NTDs Youth.
We continue making as many contributions as possible to the elimination of neglected tropical diseases.

The Second NTDs contest
January 30, 2024 (online)
As the organizing committee of the Japan Executive Committee for World NTD Day, we held the Neglected Tropical Disease Contest as we did last year. 35 teams (56 people) applied, and the winners were selected after the final selection held on January 11 at AP Toranomon in Tokyo. Visit to Türkiye to study NTD prevention measures
December 1-7, 2024 (Turkey)
We had the opportunity to participate in the SATREPS project "One Health Approach to Control Neglected Tropical Diseases, Especially Vector-Borne Infectious Diseases, in Turkey." During the visit in December, we visited the Ministry of Health, research institutes, and a specialized laboratory for leishmaniasis, and exchanged opinions with local researchers and government officials.

Joint Congress on Global Health 2024
November 16-17, 2024 (Okinawa Prefecture)
We participated in the "Joint Congress on Global Health 2024," a joint conference of the Japanese Society of Tropical Medicine, the Japanese Association for International Health, and the Taiwanese Association for Global Health, and hosted a workshop called "Unite Global Youth: Collaborative Approaches to Neglected Tropical Diseases." Approximately 60 people participated, and lively discussions were held through case work on Chagas disease treatment drugs and a lecture by Dr. Kota Yoshioka.

NNN Conference 2024
October 1st - 3rd, 2024 (Malaysia)
We participated in the "NNN Conference 2024" and promoted our activities as a youth organization. Many participants at the venue encouraged us about our youth activities, and we also created a network with new youth organizations.

CTM2024 - Conference on Tropical Medicine and Global Health
September 19-21 (Germany)
We participated in "CTM2024 - Conference on Tropical Medicine and Public Health." On September 21, Mirna Abd El Aziz from Musa and DTG (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Tropenmedizin, Reisemedizin und Globale Gesundheit e.V.) gave a presentation on the theme of "Why should young people be involved in NTDs?" and introduced the activities of NTDs-related organizations from each country.

Submitted a petition to then Vice Minister of Finance Katsuo Yagura regarding the promotion of NTD countermeasures

We submitted a request to then State Minister of Finance Katsuo Yagura regarding Japan's continued support for NTD countermeasures. We pointed out that Japan contributed approximately $1 million in 2023, supporting preventive medication for approximately 58.85 million people, and called for continued contributions of over 100 million yen in 2024.

Policy Pitch

We participated in an event hosted by PoliPoli Inc., where Gen Z made policy recommendations.
Former Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Odawara Kiyoshi, who attended, made the encouraging comment, "I want to fully support you."
